Abstract

The article stems from the mapping and analysis of documents issued by the National Council of Education (CNE) produced in the last fi ve years. Is it intended to reveal the reasons why the Temer Government (2016-2018) ordered a specifi c guideline for volunteering from the CNE? It is argued that to regulate voluntary actions in the scope of basic and higher education, Brazil follows the global movement that disregards education as a public good, instituting, together with other reforms, a framework of neoliberal orientation and neoconservative bias. A processo fi nduction of voluntary work is revealed through curricular guidelines, being taught and computed as an education al activity in basic and higher education institutions in line with the appreciation in the scope of work.
