Abstract

This study, based on the characterization of Zygmund Bauman's consumer society and Ulrich Beck's Risk Society, intends to analyze the negative social and environmental effects generated by these models of society and based on these theoretical contributions, investigate whether adoption the integral and compulsory telework during the Covid-19 pandemic made the Federal Court of the 4th Region more sustainable. To do so, it uses the inductive method, with bibliographic research in books and scientific articles, in addition to the analysis of legislation relevant to the topic and concludes that, in the post-pandemic reality, telework should be consolidated as another form of work available to magistrates and servers, enabling the reduction of pollutants and the economy of goods and services and making the work within the Federal Court of the 4th Region more sustainable.

Carolina Medeiros Bahia, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)

Possui graduação em Direito pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (2002), mestrado (2004) e doutorado em em Direito, Estado e Sociedade, sub-área Direito e Meio Ambiente, pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2012). Atualmente é professora Adjunto C, nível III, do Centro de Ciências Jurídicas da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, atuando nos cursos de graduação, mestrado acadêmico e mestrado profissional, membro do Grupo de Pesquisa Direito Ambiental na Sociedade de Risco (GPDA) e Diretora do Instituto "O Direito Por Um Planeta Verde". Tem experiência na área de Direito, com ênfase em Direito Civil, Direito do Consumidor e Direito Ambiental, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: sociedade de massa e hiperconsumo - responsabilidade no âmbito da relações de consumo - responsabilidade civil ambiental.
