Résumé

Pesquisar a violência íntima usando a epistemologia e a ontologia feministas é um empreendimento difícil e contencioso tanto para a pesquisadora quanto para os participantes na investigação etnográfica. O tema da violência íntima não é apenas emocional e traumático é repleto de tensões fundamentais para o entendimento sociológico dominante de teoria, método e metodologia. Este artigo tenta explicar as compreensões feministas de ontologia, epistemologia e ética e tornar clara a natureza dessas tensões, na escrita e práxis feministas para além das tradições convencionais da pesquisa científica ocidental. Elabora-se, por meio de ilustrações derivadas de pesquisas sobre violência íntima com mulheres, como pesquisar o tema da violência é um exercício desafiador e gratificante quando se baseia nas experiências vividas e nas compreensões de mulheres com as quais a pesquisadora se identifica. Os resultados são transformadores para a pesquisadora e participantes e contribui para a práxis dos direitos humanos.
