This artilcle consists of a bibliographic research and documental analysis. It has the intention to identify how the concept of Social and Environmental Responsability presents itself in the following offi cial documents which rule Education in Brazil: the National Curriculum Guidelines, the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC), The National Education Plan (PNE), as well as laws that regulate the brazilian education, such as the law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDBEN) and the Federal Constitution (CF 88). Beyond what is in the oficial documents, we present a didactic sequence in which this concept was put into practice by one of the authors whilst teaching professional. Thus being, the author becomes also a researcher of her pedagogical action. The questioning we here made was the next: How does the concept of Social and Environmental Responsability materialize itself in the context of the classroom? The didactic sequence is presented to the reader in ethnographic manner, showing feelings and perceptions of the authors involved. Facing the readings and dialogues with the authors and oficial documents consulted throughout the research, in addition to the revision of the documents produced in these years of teaching by the author, one can affirm with confidence that the Social and Environmental Responsability needs to leave the oficial documents and self materialize in schooling work, in the context of the classroom, for it contributes to the formation of citizens committed with environmental balance and social justice.
