Abstract

This article aims to analyze pedagogical practices, from the perspective of media literacy in the COVID-19 pandemic period at the Macário Dantas state high school in São Geraldo do Araguaia-Pará. The theoretical basis is based on the culturalist studies of media use by Bauer (2011), Martino and Menezes (2012), Lemos and Lévy (2010) and Buckingham (2010). The interdisciplinary study is supported by the discourse of communication, education, sociology and philosophy, to respond to the proposed problem. The research is qualitative, ethnographic type, with methodological focus group approach with school teachers. The approach seeks to understand the understanding of media literacy by teachers; the perception of the phenomenon of digital communication in the lives of young people; and application of educational practices with digital media that foster youth protagonism.
