Abstract

The continuing education of teachers, articulated with the perspective of a humanizing education, is presented as the theme of this article, which aims to analyze how continuing education from the perspective of humanizing education can contribute with new perspectives for the educational context, establishing links with practices that favor facing the difficulties found in the current historical moment of our country. To do so, we carried out a critical reflection based on a bibliographical research with a qualitative approach, intersecting dialogue with some theoretical contributions that approach the proposed theme. As contributions of this reflective exercise, the possibility and relevance of revisiting the conceptions and practices of continuing education are identified, seeking to qualify the formative processes, welcoming and contemplating perspectives on the subjective aspects surrounding the teaching and learning process. It can also be inferred the need to resume reflection on ethics, respect, resilience and intellectual empowerment in the context in which we find ourselves. This process forms, modifies and assists teachers in training, starting from theoretical and practical reflection, for a teaching that liberates and humanizes, thus opening space for other ways of being a teacher and doing education.
