About the Journal

Focus and Scope
The Education and Emancipation Journal is an open-access publication of the Graduate Program in Education that publishes original articles by Brazilian and international authors on education, including research-based studies and theoretical essays. Its objective is to promote scientific debate and production and to foster exchanges between the program and other organizations and individuals working in the field of education who can contribute to advancing knowledge in this area, encouraging new studies. No fees are charged for submission, processing, or for making articles available to authors and readers. Since 2017, it has been published quarterly and exclusively in electronic format.

Starting in 2017, in addition to accepting articles and essays on a continuous basis, the Education and Emancipation Journal introduced an annual special issue with a Thematic Dossier, with a specific period and theme defined in advance for the submission of articles, theoretical essays, interviews, and reviews. In both cases, submitted works must be unpublished and comply with the publication standards adopted by the journal.

Peer Review Process
Submissions are evaluated by the Journal's Editorial and Scientific Council through a double-blind review process. The selection of works involves evaluation by scholars and researchers on the Council, who select works for publication according to the journal's submission guidelines.

The editorial and scientific councils may require modifications as a condition for publication, as specified in their review reports. Once the reviews are completed, they are shared with the authors.

Authors of accepted submissions are notified and must submit a Copyright Transfer Agreement, provided by the Education and Emancipation Journal's Executive Editorial Council. Once published in the journal, articles may not be published elsewhere.

Rejected submissions will be kept at the disposal of the authors.
