Abstract

Digital inclusion is part of the ten areas identified by the National Student Assistance Program. This term appeared more frequently on the websites of Federal Institutions of Higher Education during the new coronavirus pandemic. This article seeks to reflect on the digital inclusion actions developed by universities and federal education institutes, before and after the COVID-19 pandemic, especially by the student assistance sectors. A survey was carried out on the websites of the 26 federal education institutions in the Northeast Region, from September 2020 to January 2021. The results showed that the pandemic boosted the development of digital inclusion actions, little developed before that period. The need for advances by institutions to expand the students' repertoire for study in a virtual environment is highlighted.
