Relations between pedagogical coordination, pedagogical documentation, and teacher mediation in Brazilian research

The study aimed to analyze, through an integrative literature review, how Brazilian academic production has addressed the relationships between pedagogical coordination, pedagogical documentation, and the mediation of teaching work. The research included published studies identified in national academic databases and repositories, such as the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), and the CAPES Journal Portal, between 2015 and 2025, selected based on descriptors related to pedagogical coordination, pedagogical documentation, and the mediation of teaching work. The corpus consisted of fourteen studies, analyzed in the light of the evidential paradigm, seeking to identify recurrences, convergences, and gaps present in the investigations. The results highlight the centrality of pedagogical coordination in promoting formative processes and mediating teaching work, especially through the organization of collective spaces for reflection and pedagogical support. It was also observed that pedagogical documentation appears predominantly linked to the recording and interpretation of educational experiences, particularly in the context of Early Childhood Education. However, the study found that research systematically articulating pedagogical coordination, pedagogical documentation, and formative mediation remains limited. It is concluded that pedagogical documentation has the potential to constitute a mediating device for teaching work, although this articulation is still incipient in the analyzed scientific production.
