Abstract

This article analyzes the psychological and pedagogical foundations developed by Jean-Jacques Rousseau in his main educational works, particularly in Emile, or On Education (1762). Through a hermeneutic analysis of his texts, the Rousseauian contributions to the understanding of child development, the principles of natural education, and their influence on modern pedagogy are examined. The analysis indicates that Rousseau anticipated fundamental concepts of developmental psychology and established pedagogical principles that remain relevant in contemporary educational approaches that focus on the student.
