Digital plataforma for COETRAE/MA (State Commission for the Erafication of Slave Labor in Maranhão)

Abstract

This study began with the objective of organizing a repository to gather information about contemporary slave labor in Maranhão. As the research progresses, of a qualitative nature (Deslauriers; Kérisit, 2008), the investigation starts from a bibliographical consultation and uses documentary study to construct a brief history of the struggle to combat slave labor in Maranhão territory, and also empirical research with fieldwork (Oliveira, 1996) and semi-structured interviews collectively and individually with members of COETRAE-MA (State Commission for the Eradication of Slave Labor of Maranhão). Mainly through dialogue with those responsible for sharing information, the need to enhance communication between subjects was identified, giving visibility to the topic and enabling greater effectiveness of joint actions, given that the lack of a space on the internet is the opportunity to develop a digital platform for the Commission.
