The walkability indexes are able to show the characteristics of public tours in cities on a world scale. The objective of the manuscript is to identify walkability patterns by the opinion of users of public
pedestrian walkways in the 22 sectorial areas of the city of Passo Fundo/RS-Brazil. The method initially consisted of identifying the sections with the highest pedestrian circulation in the city. After that, 269 users were approached in loco for the application of the IAAPE Method, with the use of 7Cs: connectivity, convenience, comfort, conviviality, clarity, coexistence and commitment. The collected information was submitted to the regression method. The results generated in the IAAPE Method highlight the item coexistence (67.34%) and the commitment (57.25%) with less user satisfaction. The general average of user satisfaction corresponded to 71.21%. The survey data can help urban projects that may attribute improvements to public sidewalks.
