FLORISTICS AND SPATIAL ORGANIZATION OF FRUIT PLANTS IN DOM DELGADO UNIVERSITY CITY, FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF MARANHÃO, SÃO LUÍS/MA

Abstract

The present work had the objective of assembling a map and analyzing the spatial organization of fruit species in the Dom Delgado University City of the Federal University of Maranhão. The study was developed from November 2018 to March 2019 through walks, collections of tree individuals and GPS location points, the identifications were performed with the help of specialized literature and by comparison with material identified in Herbarium MAR. The floristic list followed the classification of APG IV. 21 species, 19 genera and 13 families were registered, corresponding to
441 individuals. The families with the largest number of species were Arecaceae and Myrtaceae (with three species each) and with the largest number of individuals were Anacardiaceae (259), Arecaceae (100) and Myrtaceae (40). Regarding the pattern of distribution on campus, we noticed a greater distribution of specimens close to old buildings, which suggests the need for a tree planting project on site. Works like this are the basis for more consistent design of landscape and management projects.
