Abstract

Sanitary and environmental emergencies must be appropriated by democratic management spaces,
since announced tragedies such as those of Mariana and Brumadinho were inevitable, even with technical, legal and political instruments. The objective was to map news and comments from internet users about the rupture of the Brumadinho dam, analyzing them from the perspective of intervention bioethics and synergy with environmental bioethics. The research is configured as exploratory with a qualitative and quantitative approach through content extracted from digital media. 150 articles and 250 comments were analyzed, distributed in three phases: 20 days, 1 month and 2 months after the tragedy. The news mainly fulfilled the function of public utility, triggering aggressive and accusatory comments that transposed the content of the news. The research findings and its subsequent reflection on intervention and environmental bioethics validated both perspectives as tools in the formation of the autonomous, critical and protagonist citizen who
understands his role as a moral agent, since he is inserted in the universe of actors that make up the
society.
