PROGRAM TO MODERNIZE THE MANAGEMENT OF THE UNION'S REAL ESTATE AND ITS SOCIO-SPATIAL ACTS

Abstract

The inefficient management of federal public properties caused by lack of incorporation, inadequate destination, control and supervision of deficient properties, allow several properties without use to suffer external actions that cause socio- environmental problems. To face these management problems, the Patrimony of the Union Agency (SPU), the responsible for the property of the Union, created in 2017 the Program for Modernization of the Management of the Property of the Union (PMGPU), aiming to strengthen the capacity to optimize the administration of the properties, aiming at the correct incorporation to the Patrimony. This article intends to present the actions developed for optimizing the management of the assets and results of the work done by the Regional Unit of Geoinformation of Minas Gerais (URGeo/MG) in the integration of PMGPU under the SPU/MG. The methodology developed in the research involves the standardization of cartography, including cataloging and conversion of products; creation of a Geographic Database; modernization of procedures for identification and characterization of properties. By the actions developed after the execution of the methodology, 3394 cartographic products were identified and treated in the state of Minas Gerais in the period from 2017 to 2020. The result obtained allowed URGeo/MG to obtain an inventory of its collections and to respond satisfactorily to the PMGPU, as well as to have a process adapted to the characteristics of the documentation of the properties under its responsibility.
