Abstract

This paper addresses the ethical implications in the production of knowledge in the field of the history of education using tools available in the global network system (web). Based on Certeau's (1982) concept of historiographical operation, it reflects on the work of the historian with the existence of the internet. Having done that, the discussions promoted by the National Association of Graduate Studies in Education (ANPEd) on research ethics are brought into the debate, establishing connections with the writing of the history of education. Finally, as a concluding remark, it is argued that thinking about historiographical culture today requires recognizing the role that technological development plays both in relation to the gathering of sources and in the methodological procedures in the construction of history, in order to understand the subjectivities and otherness that constitute it.

Sônia Maria da Silva Araújo, Universidade Federal do Pará

PhD in Education from the University of São Paulo, with a postdoctoral degree from the University of Coimbra. Full Professor at the Federal University of Pará. Professor of the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Pará and coordinator of the José Veríssimo Research Group and Latin American Educational Thought.
