Abstract

Listening to children is an opening to expand knowledge about society. Children do have a lot to say about the spaces in which they live. When listening to the children’s voice, what would be learning about the challenges they experience in the daily life of the city? Based on this questioning, 77 children, between 7 and 11 years old, students from an art school in Manaus, Amazonas, were heard in a semi-structured interview and in conversation circles. The data were analyzed using content analysis. The children’s voices were included in a bibliographic context in order to problematize the child’s relationship with the city, highlighting the relevance of recognizing children as subjects. The results show the need for children’s voices to understand the processes of perception about circulation, appropriation and experiences in the urban context.
