Cloud security: perception of Library Science students at the University of Costa Rica

Abstract

This article presents the results of research conducted on the knowledge of Cloud Information Security among students from both Educational Libraries and Information Sciences bachelor's programs at the School of Library Science and Information Science of the University of Costa Rica, enrolled in the first semester of 2024. The research employed a mixed-method exploratory approach, focusing on the students enrolled in the bachelor's programs at the School of Library Science and Information Science at UCR during the first semester of 2024. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to the study population. The results revealed that the surveyed students are at an advanced level in their bachelor's studies and demonstrated a relationship between the emphasis of the student's program and their knowledge of Cloud Information Security. The importance of integrating Cloud Information Security into the curriculum of the bachelor's programs at the EBCI.
