The objective of this work is to investigate ten black girls who are protagonists of animations broadcasted in Brazilian media in 2019. Anchored by the reading of bell hooks (2019) and Gayatri Spivak (2010) about black feminisms and subordination and by the culturalist perspective of Douglas Kellner (2001), we analyze quantitatively and qualitatively what representations the audiovisual builds about these black protagonists and what affections and possibilities are presented to them. We conclude that there is an erasure of race in the protagonists, who occupy places of subordination and when they are unique protagonists this do not reflect the multiplicity of black experiences.
