Abstract

Based on the results obtained through research carried out in the Marajoara archipelago, this article was written and in its investigative course, its general objective was to analyze the process of social reproduction of riverside families and the child labor performed by children and adolescents in the Tajapuru River in the municipality of Breves, considering the economic, political, legal, and sociocultural measurements that involve the studied social being. It is noteworthy that they live under permanent threat and subject themselves to the worst conditions of child labor tensioned by the need for survival. The lack of responsibility of the State in terms policies aimed at assisting families was also verified, through the absence of confrontation of the social assistance network of municipality, with emphasis on the Guardianship Council and the Municipal Court for Children and Youth.
