Abstract

Result of master's and doctoral research that share the hypothesis that access to law, the participation of rural subjects in the formulation and implementation of public policies and the link between Rural Education and the interests of workers have been historically marked by denial and by dispute over the role and nature of the State, with achievements as the correlation of forces in each juncture, the text begins by analyzing the relationship between the State and social movements in
contemporary Brazilian capitalism; it places public policies for Rural Education between the law and the class struggle; and analyzes three cases: rural schools in the municipality of Caucaia as an expression of the autocratic State; CEFFA Manoel Monteiro and its relationship with educational policies; and the role of the MST in the high schools of the agrarian reform settlements in Ceará.
