CRISIS OF HEGEMONY AND EMANCIPATION OF SUBALTERNS IN GRAMSCI'S THOUGHT

Abstract

This work exposes readings on Gramsci's thought on the theory of hegemony, with the purpose of contributing to the debate about the current context of the crisis of world hegemony and the implications in the emancipatory struggle of the subalterns and of all humanity. It highlights three aspects: a) hegemony in Gramsci, a practical-political and philosophical process that is distinctly important for the social classes in struggle; b) the construction of hegemony as the subaltern's revolutionary strategy, in which forming a new culture is central; c) crisis of hegemony and philosophy of praxis, centered on the discussion of the loss of consensus by the hegemonic class and on the possibility of the advancing of the critical development of subalterns, guided by the philosophy of praxis. It concludes reaffirming the thesis of the unification of theory and practice in the hegemonic historical of the subaltern groups as the hegemonic class.
