Abstract

The author analyzes some conceptual elements about labor and its democratization. This article ponders and bring attention on conceptions of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara on the role of work and workers and about public policies related to the labor's world in socialist Cuba. The contradictions that affected labor productivity with negative influences on subjectivities are also considered and analyzed. Special attention is given to the analysis of the transformation process of the socialist development model and its impact on work, income and wages, together with the challenges that exist in that field. It reflects on policies and programs that are implemented to meet the challenges and improve the working world and the living conditions of workers.
