POLÍTICAS DE SAÚDE INDÍGENA E OS SABERES TRADICIONAIS CANELA

Resumo

O texto aponta o descompasso entre a forma como o povo Canela1 concebe o que denominamos saúde, considerando seu contato com o mundo não indígena, e as concepções presentes no sistema indigenista de atenção à saúde. Esse contato favoreceu o surgimento de problemas que afetam diretamente a construção do corpo forte (OLIVEIRA, 2008), e implicou na necessidade da introdução de serviços biomédicos. Descreve a estrutura de atendimento biomédico na aldeia, destacando o desconhecimento dos profissionais da biomedicina no que se refere aos saberes Canelas, assim como as concepções presentes no sistema indigenista de atenção à saúde não correspondem ao modo de vida Canela. Demonstra como participação indígena está sendo definida na formulação e implementação de ações de saúde aos povos indígenas, já que estas pretendem ser específicas e diferenciadas.

Abstract

The text points out the gap between how the Canelas people conceive what we call health from contact with the non-indigenous world that favored the emergence of problems that directly affect the construction of the strong body (OLIVEIRA, 2008), and implied the need to introduce of biomedical services. Describes the structure of biomedical care in the village, highlighting the lack of professional biomedicine with regard to knowledge Canelas, as the conceptions involved in the Indian system of health care do not match the lifestyle Cinnamon and demonstrates how indigenous participation is being set the formulation and implementation of health actions for indigenous peoples, as they claim to be specific and differentiated.
