Abstract

The present study aims to analyze the limits and complexities of guaranteeing human rights for historically excluded groups in Brazilian society. Qualitative in nature, the work is based on bibliographic and documentary research to deepen the discussion on the contradictions of the concept of human rights in the context of capitalism. Examines the dissociation between discourse and practice in the neoliberal hegemonic narrative. It denounces the conceptual distortions constructed by dominant groups to maintain their privileges and the asymmetrical status quo. It highlights that the defense of democracy and human emancipation can only be achieved through the social struggle against discrimination, the development of quality public policies of good social quality and the confrontation of violence, injustice and inequalities produced by the capitalist system.
