Abstract

Objective: To identify, through an integrative review, existing articles on racism in nursing and decolonial care as a strategy of resistance and identity for black nurses. Nine articles were selected from international databases. In the articles found, it was found that racism in nursing is presented through microaggressions and the outcomes highlighted point to strategies for promoting decolonial care practices exercised by black nurses. The relevance of recognizing the existence of a colonization of nursing care is highlighted; the characteristics of racism and prejudice in the care provided by black nurses; the need to implement decolonial care actions. For discussions about black nursing and decolonial care, it is necessary to bring the intersectional dimension as a central axis for the profession, as it was constituted as predominantly female, White and Christian. This observation has been a barrier to the access and permanence of these professionals in the various fields of activity, especially in those that are prominent, since its emergence. It is necessary to break with the social imaginary that places them in a place of worthlessness to establish an identity that contributes to diversity and multiraciality in Brazilian
Nursing.
