Abstract

The aim is to analyze the relationship between the disaggregation’s by sex, race and women heads of household in the age group from 18 to 65 years of the Multidimensional Poverty Index (IPM-NIS) in Brazil and in the Southeast regions. For the documentary research, the microdata of the 2010 Demographic Census was use and the multidimensional poverty index of the Social Intelligence Center was applied. The data show that black women presented deprivations that almost all
indicators, being the most prominent washing machine, sanitation, education, density dweller and informal work. The study points out the social and racial inequality of women, and the need for public policies to improve the quality of life of black women.
