Abstract

This article is derived from broader research and aims to discuss the potential of social movements for the process of building a humane and emancipated society. The methodological theoretical reference that guides the reflections is Historical and Dialectical Materialism and the analyzes are anchored, among other authors in the field, in Gramsci (2004a; 2004b); Marx and Engels (2010) and Bogo (2010). In order to fulfill the proposed objective, the text is structured in discussions that contemplate reflections on the morphology of work in the current capitalist
sociability, focusing on its centrality in the class struggle and the diverse character of social movements in the revolutionary struggle. The conclusions indicate that social movements can confront social reality and contribute to overcoming the dominance that takes place in the field of capitalism.
