Abstract

The objective of this article was to capture, albeit in a preliminary way, the nuances of the performance of political parties in the processes of agricultural and agrarian policies in Brazil. Therefore, in an effort to limit the scope of the study, the government programs of the parties that contested the second round of the 2018 presidential election are analyzed. Reading these documents showed that, while the PSL does not propose any change to the current scenario, the PT-PCdoB-PROS coalition suggests a more diverse and inclusive rural world and an attack on the problem of land concentration. In this way, the existence of different propositions among the analyzed government plans was verified, which demonstrates the existence of different political projects for the Brazilian agricultural and agrarian agenda. In addition, it is possible to affirm that this distinction is reflected in the banners held by the different political parties.
