The present article aims to discuss the process of construction of narratives, especially visual ones about the memory of Anita Garibaldi. It is understood that the discourses and images produced throughout the nineteenth,, twentieth centuries and currently are holders of intentions and, therefore, revealing relevant aspects related to culture and society of the places and periods in which they were produced.
