KAICHOU WA MAID-SAMA!: a estética do melodrama e empoderamento feminino em um shoujo mangá

Abstract

A produção editorial de quadrinhos no Japão é dividida em classes demográficas. Entre essas classes o shoujo mangá se desenvolve a partir de tramas novelescas onde no passado suas protagonistas se apresentam frágeis. Nos dias de hoje elas são mais independentes, retratando uma evolução no pensamento feminino japonês. O shoujo dispõe de diferentes categorias estéticas para a promoção de uma aproximação das leitoras (e leitores) com as histórias vendidas nos semanais publicados no mercado. A partir disso analisamos as categorias estéticas no shoujo mangá Kaichou wa Maid-sama! considerando o retrospecto da mulher nas HQs japonesas.

Abstract

The comic book production in Japan is divided into demographic classes. Among these classes the shoujo manga develops from novelistic plots where in the past its protagonists are fragile. These days they are more independent, depicting an evolution in Japanese feminine thinking. The shoujo has different aesthetic categories for the promotion of an approximation of the readers (and readers) with the stories sold in the weekly published in the market. From this we analyze the aesthetic categories in the shoujo mangá Kaichou wa Maid-sama! considering the retrospective of the woman in Japanese comics.
