COMUNIDADES VIRTUAIS E O COMPARTILHAMENTO DE CONTEÚDOS DIGITAIS: NOTAS SOBRE A (RE)ORGANIZAÇÃO DA VIDA NO CIBERESPAÇO

Abstract

RESUMO: Este artigo propõe uma análise sobre o compartilhamento de conteúdos digitais através da internet. Primeiro, recuperamos a discussão teórica que norteia a investigação sobre o fenômeno das comunidades virtuais e da livre troca de dados nestes ambientes. A seguir, apresentamos o Orkut como caso representativo para a observação das práticas de compartilhamento de músicas e filmes, e como isto implica a sociabilidade on-line. O objetivo é o de compreender o ciberespaço como um ambiente
comunicacional, não dissociado da realidade social daqueles que interagem através dele.

ABSTRACT: This article proposes an analysis about the sharing of digital content through the Internet. First, we recover the theoretical discussion that guides research about the phenomenon of virtual communities and the free exchange of data in these environments. Then, we present Orkut as representative case to observe the practice of sharing music and movies, and this implies the sociability online. The goal is to understand cyberspace as a communicational environment, not dissociated from the
social reality of those who interact through it.
