Abstract

This article analyzes the agroecological experiences of conservation of the commons, carried out by family farmers in the municipality of Apodi, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, especially those that affect water, food, seeds and the forest, seeking to understand them as strategies of re-existence and defense of plural ways of life. Starting from a decolonial approach, we highlight how subjects subordinated and erased by the modern dominant system, reestablished their links with the land, credible their experiences and reinforced their identities, inspired by the idea of coexistence with the semi-arid region
and the dialogue of knowledge. Through bibliographic research, we reconstruct the trajectory of occupation of the territory of the municipality, highlighting the contexts and conditions in which these processes took place and that allowed the design of “ideas to postpone the end of the world”, as suggested by Krenak (2019).
