The present study realized the phytosociological analysis of the woody community of four fragments of the University City Dom Delgado of the Federal University of Maranhão, in São Luís. Plots of 10x10m were used and woody species with CAS ≥ 10cm were measured. Phytosociological parameters were calculated with the aid of FITOPAC 2.0. The identified species followed the APG IV classification. The life forms were indicated in field observations and the phytogeographic domains consulted on the Flora do Brasil 2020 website. Fragment 1 had the highest number of individuals sampled (409) and a total of 43 species found. Fragment 2 has 219 recorded individuals and obtained the highest number of species (48 ssp.) of the four fragments. Fragment 3 with 176 individuals and the smallest number of species (31 spp.). Fragment 4, on the other hand, presented 165 individuals and 34 registered species. The species with the highest importance value in all fragments were Astrocaryum vulgare and Attalea speciosa. The hypsometric and diametric distribution showed that the vegetation is small to medium in size and is in an early stage of succession.
