This article aimed to analyze whether the Minha Casa Minha Vida Program (PMCMV) has enabled the urban insertion of housing projects and their population or led to the establishment of sociospatial inequalities. For this analysis, the Residencial Canaã was chosen, in the city of Canaã dos Carajás, in the southeastern portion of the state of Pará, a municipality strongly influenced by mining and with a large population influx in the 21st century. From the application of forms and field research as methodological instruments, it was concluded that in the study area there are problematic aspects with regard to its urban insertion, making it difficult to connect the PMCMV housing projects with the rest of the city, especially regarding the absence/disability of public
transport, the difficulty in accessing educational equipment and the inadequacy of public spaces.
