The intellectual circles of sociology teaching and the research subfield in Brazil

Abstract

The article analyzes the relationships between
researchers in the subfield of Sociology
teaching research in Brazil, investigating
the existence of intellectual circles.
Data were gathered from the most cited articles
on Google Scholar and information
from the Lattes Curriculum. The researcher
networks were analyzed in the context
of the subfield dynamics, based on Pierre
Bourdieu’s Field Theory. The results identify
three distinct intellectual circles and a connected
network of researchers, indicating a
trend towards the strengthening and consolidation
of this subfield.
