Abstract

This article deals with the monumentalization of Argonauts in Brazil, based on the widespread and repeated reading of his Introduction to Formative Disciplines. Activating concepts such as incompleteness and play, we find, between the lines of the work, alinowski’s reflections little highlighted about enslaved or forced labour in the Trobriand. This rereading allows us to weave analytical approximations between the author’s undertaking and that of Christopher Columbus. Through hidden passages of the work, we explore the centrality of the plantation in the Trobriand Islands. We suggest the future of Argonauts resides in its appropriation beyond the exegesis of its Introduction, which is, in fact, little expressive of the whole work.
