MORFOTAXONOMIA REPRODUTIVA DE ESPÉCIES DO GÊNERO Senna Mill. (FABACEAE – CAESALPINIOIDEAE) OCORRENTES EM FLORESTA OMBRÓFILA DENSA
Keywords:
Cassiinae, northeastern brazil, ombrophilous forest.Abstract
Senna is distributed in the intertropical region and includes around 300 species, 81 of which have been recorded in Brazil and can be found in different vegetational and phytosionomic types, and 30 of these taxa are endemic. Therefore, with regard to the few studies on the diversity and taxonomy of the genus Senna in the state of Alagoas, we aimed to carry out a reproductive morphotaxonomic treatment of the species of the genus occurring in an area of dense ombrophilous vegetation. A key for identifying the species, descriptions of the reproductive organs and illustrations were prepared, as well as taxonomic comments. This study was carried out in the Pedra Talhada Biological Reserve, a remnant of the Atlantic Rainforest, characterized by typical dense ombrophilous forest vegetation, located between the states of Alagoas and Pernambuco, in northeastern Brazil. Nine species were recorded in the study area. In this way, this study provides an important subsidy for recording and expanding data on the reproductive diversity and distribution of species of the genus for the state of Alagoas, especially for remnants of preserved vegetation, helping to expand the development of environmental conservation policies and mitigation strategies to reduce the impacts caused by anthropic influences still present in the region.
