MULHERES HAITIANAS NO ESPAÇO PÚBLICO DE 1930 A 1950: O olhar sobre as primeiras ações feministas da Liga feminina da ação social/ HAITIAN WOMEN IN THE PUBLIC SPACE FROM 1930 TO 1950: The look on the first feminist actions of the feminine League of social action

Resumo

A partir de início do século XX, as mulheres haitianas ganham o protagonismo no espaço público na luta pelo reconhecimento dos seus direitos. Essa luta foi difícil, no entanto, o núcleo de mulheres da classe alta e intelectual desenvolveu um vasto movimento. A organização chamada Liga Feminina de Ação Social (LFAS) torna-se o farol dessa luta para mudar as imagens estereotipadas sobre a mulher e pensar refundar a base sócio-legal que as impediu até então de serem protagonistas no espaço público tal como os homens. Do ponto de vista metodológico e analítico, o presente artigo utilizou a revista LFAS e a memória de Madeleine Sylvain-Bouchereau, fundadora dessa organização.

A partir de inícios del siglo XX, las mujeres haitianas conquistan un protagonismo en el espacio público en la lucha por el reconocimiento de sus derechos. Esa lucha fue difícil, entretanto, el núcleo de mujeres de la clase alta e intelectual desarrolló un amplio movimiento. La organización Liga Femenina de Acción Social (LFAS) se convierte en el farol de esa lucha para mudar las imágenes estereotipadas sobre la mujer y refundar la base sócio-legal que las impidio hasta entonces de ser protagonistas en el espacio público tal como los hombres. Desde el punto de vista metodológico y analítico, el presente artículo utilizó la revista LFAS y la memória de Madeleine Sylvain-Bouchereau, fundadora de esta organización.

Abstract

In the beginning of the twentieth century in Haiti, women won the leading role in the public space in the struggle for emancipation of their rights. This fight was difficult, however, the core of upper-class and intellectual women developed a huge movement. The organization called the Women’s League of Social Action (LFAS) becomes the leader of this struggle to change the scenario of what is thought of stereotypical women and to refund the socio-legal basis that prevents women from being protagonists in the public space such as men. In a methodological and analytical point of view, this article used the journal of LFAS and the memory of Madeleine Sylvain-Bouchereau, founder of this organization.
