The traps of identity – between identity movements and the revolutionary struggle

This article aims to reflect on the traps of identity, seeking to understand the formation of identity movements in the United States, thinking about the issue of identity in Latin America and Africa and proposing the category of black praxis as an alternative to identitarianism. To achieve this, this article is mainly based on the thoughts of three authors: Asad Haider, Frantz Fanon and Clóvis Moura. These three intellectuals will help understand the formation of identities and reflect on how they can become traps or powerful instruments in the search for emancipation.

Decorrente da investigação sobre as inspirações francesas da “via revolucionária”, cogitada por membros do movimento republicano entre 1869 e 1889 para substituir a Monarquia brasileira, o trabalho apresentado demonstra a inserção do letrado gaúcho Francisco Cunha no debate político dos anos de 1870. Através das páginas d’ A República, seus discursos sustentam que a opção pela “reforma”, pretendida por liberais históricos signatários do Manifesto do Centro Liberal, não colocava um ponto final decisório na opção por uma saída não convencional para a crise política vivida no período. Muito menos a solução reformista pacífica reivindicada pelos republicanos históricos, signatários do Manifesto Republicano de 03 de dezembro de 1870. Os discursos na imprensa apontam que opção pela via revolucionária disruptiva radical para solucionar a “questão do regime” no Império do Brasil, permaneceu como um campo em aberto, para além das estratégias traçadas e dos marcos cronológicos assinalados pelos documentos políticos mencionados.

Orality, tradition, and the teaching of Philosophy

This article addresses the importance of orality and tradition in the teaching of philosophy. The main objective is to investigate how these practices have shaped the development of philosophical thought and their relevance in the contemporary educational context. The methodology involves a bibliographical analysis of oral traditions in various philosophical cultures, highlighting historical and contemporary examples. The results show that orality continues to be a vital tool for the transmission of philosophical knowledge, adapting to new technologies and cultural contexts. It is concluded that valuing orality in the teaching of philosophy can enrich pedagogical practice and strengthen the critical training of students.

Meaningful learning of philosophy in high school through memory modulations

The aim is to encourage high school students to learn philosophy in a meaningful way, broadening that static knowledge, with a view to its practical development, which corroborates the full exercise of citizenship. The aim is to obtain theoretical parameters from neuroscience, for a basic foundation that supports educational knowledge in its sense of praxis. It highlights the evocation of memory for the acquisition and consolidation of knowledge, associating philosophical methods that enhance this evocation, as well as the adequate preparation of the learning environment and the promotion of socio-emotional skills, which together with memories, in other words, memory, will make up the strategic plan in which we aim for that first acquisition: the meaningful learning of philosophy.

Between silences and meanings: the philosophy of Zen Buddhism through the lens of Byung-Chul Han

This article aims to explore, through the reflections of Byung-Chul Han, how the philosophy of Zen Buddhism is nourished by an incessant dialogue with this spiritual tradition. It is essential to unfold, at the conceptual level, the philosophical force that permeates Zen Buddhism. However, this journey is not without obstacles. The objective of this text is to examine that the experience of being or consciousness to which Zen Buddhist practice is directed cannot be fully captured by a conceptual language. The philosophy of Zen Buddhism, in turn, seeks to fill this linguistic gap through various strategies of meaning and expression. For this study, we will use works by prominent authors, with emphasis on the aforementioned philosopher's "Philosophy of Zen Buddhism".

Has the VAR changed the game?: a try of an epistemological approach to a current question

It was the referee’s perception of the situation, plus his knowledge of the laws that were the only base for decisions, but the VAR changed this. The various angles of TV images have more power than the human situational perception. Experience was downgraded, while the value of judgement through TV images increased. The figurative character of football and the sport’s popularity contribute to this pressure. Refereeing is supposed to become more accurate the higher the level of the match. Still, it is the human factor that is essential for the game and all humans can err. Perception and imagination can err as well, Still, a decision must be made by the match officials. Based on the ideas of Radical Constructivism and John Searle’s interpretation of Direct Realism, this article tries to give a view on the essence of football refereeing and how the VAR has changed the game.
