Essas ações de renomeações, transformações e louvações institucionalizadas pelo Estado estão inseridas no campo das políticas patrimoniais, que na África do Sul surgem na busca da construção de uma nação, onde a cultura passa a ser símbolo nacional. Tomando-se as políticas patrimoniais na África do Sul pós-apartheid como objeto de análise, problematiza-se como o Estado apropria-se do patrimônio e das expressões culturais étnicas para a formação de uma identidade nacional em tempos de democratização. As políticas patrimoniais sul-africanas pós-apartheid centram-se na construção de uma nação marcada pela sua diversidade étnica e cultural, onde o patrimônio e a cultura tornam-se símbolo da nação Rainbow Nation.</p><p><br /><strong>Palavras-chave:</strong> Estado. Políticas patrimoniais.</p><p> </p><p><strong>HERITAGE POLICIES ON THE LAND OF THE ZULUS: </strong>the construction of the nation Rainbow Nation</p><p>ABSTRACT: Post-apartheid South Africa (1995-) has sought in heritage policies and ethnic cultures a new way of thinking the nation: renaming streets, turning buildings into museums, events reminiscent of the characters who fought against racial segregation and , Appreciation of ethnic cultural expressions. These actions of renamed, transformed and praised institutionalized by the State are inserted in the field of patrimonial policies, that in South Africa arise in the search of the construction of a nation, where the culture happens to be national symbol. Taking post-apartheid wealth policies in South Africa as an object of analysis, the question is how the State appropriates the heritage and ethnic cultural expressions for the formation of a national identity in times of democratization.
