AVALIAÇÃO DE ATITUDES E CONHECIMENTOS SOBRE AMAMENTAÇÃO DE MÃES NO PUERPÉRIO IMEDIATO / EVALUATION OF ATTITUDES AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT BREASTFEEDING MOTHERS IN THE IMMEDIATE PUERPERSE

Resumo

Introdução: Amamentar, além de ser um ato de amor, afeto e dedicação é fundamental e traz inúmeros benefícios para a saúde
da mãe e do bebê. Porém, fatores externos podem interferir no sucesso deste processo natural no período pós-parto. Objetivo:
Avaliar as atitudes e o conhecimento das mães sobre amamentação, no puerpério imediato. Métodos: Estudo transversal,
observacional foi realizado por meio de questionários, com puérperas internadas em um hospital de grande porte na cidade de
Passo Fundo, norte do estado do RS, independentemente do tipo de parto e convênio (SUS, ou outro). Resultados: das puérperas
entrevistadas, verificou-se que 93% delas estavam amamentando. Nas puérperas que haviam tido gestações anteriores, 45%
delas amamentaram por mais de 7 meses. Conclusão: Verificou-se que a maioria das puérperas estavam amamentando e que
as mães tinham conhecimento das vantagens desta prática e manifestaram o desejo de realizar o aleitamento materno exclusivo,
porém demonstraram preocupação quanto a essa prática após a alta.

Abstract

Introduction: Breastfeeding, in addition to being an act of love, affection and dedication is fundamental and brings numerous
benefits to the health of the mother and baby. However, external factors can interfere with the success of this natural process in
the postpartum period. Objective: To evaluate mothers' attitudes and knowledge about breastfeeding, in the immediate
puerperium. Methods: this cross-sectional, observational study was carried out using questionnaires, with puerperal women
admitted to a large hospital in the city of Passo Fundo, northern RS, regardless of the type of delivery and health insurance (SUS,
or other). Results: of the interviewed mothers, it was found that 93% of them were breastfeeding. In the puerperal women who
had had previous pregnancies, 45% of them breastfed for more than 7 months. Conclusion: It was found that most of the mothers
were breastfeeding and that the mothers were aware of the advantages of this practice and expressed the desire to perform
exclusive breastfeeding, but showed concern about this practice after discharge.
