Several studies show the existence of many ways to establish this relation, some reaffirm the hegemonic vision of teaching and researching and others try to
reframe the places and ways to develop the teaching and the investigation in classroom. The participants were professors, with title of masters and doctors, from a same course of graduation in Pedagogy in a public university. Through this semi-structured interview the data were collected and treated according to the thematic content analysis (BARDIN, 2000). The
discussion of the results brings evidences that there presentation of the participant about the relation between teaching and research contemplates, essentially, an idea of research as subsidy for the transmissive, centered in the professor, with engagement of the student in the investigation preferentially via the scientific initiation, which reveals a restrictive and scientistic conception of research. This relation, marked by the hierarchy and the dissociation, seems to have as background the conception of learning as acquisition of knowledge and essencially intellectualist.

Keywords: Relation Teaching Research.
